1st Friday Lenten Devotion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Jesus<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

During Lent, the Stations of the Cross invite us to walk spiritually with Christ on His journey to Calvary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each station reflects not only His suffering but also our own struggles, weaknesses, and need for grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this First Friday of Lent, may this devotion help us examine our lives, surrender harmful habits, and draw closer to God through prayer and reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Jesus is condemned to death<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cPilate handed Him over to be crucified.\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 27:26)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord, we often choose things that slowly harm us \u2014 endless scrolling, unhealthy habits, and choices that distance us from You.
Help us to choose life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Jesus carries His Cross<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cCarrying the cross Himself, He went out.\u201d<\/em> (John 19:17)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We try to escape discomfort through distractions instead of carrying our crosses.
Teach us to face life with courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Jesus falls the first time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cHe was pierced for our transgressions.\u201d<\/em> (Isaiah 53:5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We fall again into the same temptations \u2014 comfort, dependency, and excess.
Give us strength to rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Jesus meets His Mother<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cA sword will pierce your own soul too.\u201d<\/em> (Luke 2:35)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In moments of weakness, may we turn to the loving guidance of Mary instead of seeking false comforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Simon helps Jesus carry the Cross<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cThey forced a passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, to carry His cross.\u201d<\/em> (Mark 15:21)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help us to accept help and not isolate ourselves in silent struggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cWhatever you did for one of the least\u2026 you did for Me.\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 25:40)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May we show compassion to those trapped in addiction and loneliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Jesus falls the second time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cThough He falls, He shall not be utterly cast down.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 37:24)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even after resolutions, we fall again into habits that enslave us.
Strengthen our perseverance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cDo not weep for Me; weep for yourselves.\u201d<\/em> (Luke 23:28)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turn our hearts from shallow sorrow to true conversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Jesus falls the third time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cMy strength is made perfect in weakness.\u201d<\/em> (2 Corinthians 12:9)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we feel powerless before our weaknesses, remind us that Your grace is stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Jesus is stripped of His garments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cThey divided His garments among them.\u201d<\/em> (John 19:23)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free us from attachments to image, validation, and approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Jesus is nailed to the Cross<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cThey crucified Him.\u201d<\/em> (Luke 23:33)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help us to surrender the habits that bind us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Jesus dies on the Cross<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cFather, into Your hands I commend My spirit.\u201d<\/em> (Luke 23:46)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Your sacrifice, break every chain that keeps us from loving You fully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13. Jesus is taken down from the Cross<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cHe took the body of Jesus.\u201d<\/em> (John 19:38)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heal the wounds caused by our dependencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14. Jesus is laid in the tomb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 \u201cThey laid Him in a tomb.\u201d<\/em> (Luke 23:53)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us bury our old selves and rise renewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lenten Reflection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Stations of the Cross remind us that suffering is not the end of the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through every fall, every burden, and every surrender, Christ leads us toward renewal and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May this devotion inspire us to walk faithfully, trusting that even in weakness, God\u2019s grace is at work within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May we continue this journey with courage and trust in God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let this journey lead us closer to the Eucharist<\/a>, the source of our strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closing Prayer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lord Jesus,
Free us from everything that keeps us from You.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help us to live with discipline,
to seek silence over noise,
and to find joy in Your presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May we encounter this same sacrifice in every Holy Mass we attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May this Lent be a journey from bondage to freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
